Check-in and Customer Service Staff Wanted in Oskarshamn

We are now looking for several check-in and customer service staff for our terminal in Oskarshamn for the summer season 2026.

Job Description

As a check-in and customer service staff member, you will have varied tasks. A work shift may include several of the following:

  • Customer service, ticket booking, phone support, email, and chat
  • Checking tickets in connection with the ship's departures
  • Welcoming ships upon their arrival at the port, assisting with escorting, internal mail, and baggage handling
  • Cash handling with ticket bookings, selling discount cards, and other cash-related tasks

A four-day training will take place in the spring of 2026. Practical training will then occur at approximately 5 occasions after your training until the seasonal employment starts in June.

Qualifications

Your profile: In your work, you are a representative of the entire company and will meet hundreds of our travelers daily. We expect you to be service-oriented, have a positive attitude, and that it is natural for you to always do your best to meet customer expectations. Booking and check-in are done in our booking system Bookit, and it is a requirement that you are computer literate. You must be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have good knowledge of English. Speaking additional languages is an advantage. You must be at least 18 years old (by June 2026).

Working Hours and Duration

Our operations run around the clock with many evening and weekend shifts. Your scheduled work shifts will vary. The positions are temporary with part-time 75% from June to August 2026. No longer leave will be granted during this period.

Salary

Hourly wage according to the collective agreement with Unionen.

At Destination Gotland, we are responsible for one of Sweden's most important routes – the sea route between Gotland and the mainland. Our fast ferries create opportunities for both passengers and freight traffic to travel efficiently between Gotland and the mainland, on the routes Visby – Nynäshamn or Visby – Oskarshamn.

We have operated the Gotland traffic since 1998 and are proud of the trust. Formally, the assignment is from the Transport Administration, but in many ways, the assignment is also from the Gotland community. We see it as our task to contribute to the development of Gotland by always leading the way and creating opportunities for everyone who wants to travel to and from our island.
